NewsLady
A good source of information about the Panama Government's response is the group "Panama Laws For Expats" run by James Bondoux. You can join this group by going to https://groups.io/g/PanamaLawsForExpats The following are a couple of posts James has made this morning: The mayors of the districts of Chiriqui met with the governor and various other authorities. They have issued a decree establishing a curfew from 9pm until 5am. The same decree bans the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages. The measures are effective today, March I8, and remain in force until April 7. The Mayor of Boquete issued his own decree, establishing fines: $100 for first infraction of breaking curfew, $500 for second offense. $50 for first infraction of sale or consumption of alcohol, $500 for second infraction. Jame's translation of Article 308 of the Panama Penal code. "Anyone who spreads a disease dangerous or contagious to humans or infringes the sanitary measures adopted by the competent authorities to prevent the introduction or spread of a disease will be punished with prison for four to six years. If it is a contagious disease, the penalty will be ten to fifteen years in prison." The second clause makes me wonder a bit about the word "contagious" in the first clause, but whatever...
