Panama’s  Food Safety Authority (Aupsa)  has  warned that products listed as “dairy” but do not meet the required standards are appearing in Panama,

"It is our concern that countless citizens are providing their children and elderly some drinks that they believe are full of dairy nutrients when they do not even reach the percentages or the components that support them as such," said  a release on Tuesday, September 24,

They report that they have already held a coordination meeting with the Consumer Protection Authority (ACODECO) to detect in the local market "any liquid substance disguised to be sold as fluid milk".

Aupsa has created the Commission for the Evaluation of Dairy Products entering the country. They affirm that it is urgent to review and update all the registers and regulations that have facilitated the entry into the country of products with low percentages of dairy substances, which are marketed as 100% pure milk.
