Brundageba
Today there were about 20 cars and trucks pulled off on the side of the road. Nobody in them. I assume they were ready to be towed off.
Bonnie
That sends a strong message.
Twin Wolf Technology Group
They have been there for a couple of days now. Most are pickup trucks. If they were going to be towed, I would expect it would have been done already.
Keith Woolford
The vehicles belong to farmers who are stopping the shipment of vegetables to the City.
Brundageba
Interesting. Thanks Keith. If interruption of traffic is something that is actually against the law here...how can they be doing that right there where the police are? Bonnie
How can the interruption of traffic be against the law when the indigenous do it all the time? I would love to understand this this issue. And why are farmers stopping the shipment of vegetables to the City. I've always heard that the City if the major market?
Brundageba
"Produce growers of the Chiriqui Highlands have decided to stop sending legumes to Panama City due to the fact the supermarkets continue to import products without governmental sanctions such as onions and potatoes and their crops and going to waste causing them huge monetary losses. They had threatened to close the road to the Highlands, but instead, they are stopping shipments of all legumes to the city until their situation is resolved."
