NewsLady
The Old Timey Radio Show, the Tiki Bar edition, is back in Boquete. Hula dancers, surf guitar and hilarity. Saturday and Sunday, 5 PM BCP theater You can hoot and holler, laugh and cry and talk back to the performers. MC Mike Schwartz keeps things on a semi-even keel, about as easy as managing a cat circus. The acts are an incredibly varied roller coaster of entertainment - from Maori war chants by the amazing Johnson family (and what a backstory they have!) to awesome surf guitar from our own Art Blevins and the house band. New standup comedy from the energetic Colaquito. And the vocal stylings of Nicole Hart, Kati Murphy, Larry Shramm, Frank Chandek, Jeanie Miller and the show stopper, 14 year old Sarah Phillips. Personally, I'll be coming back to see the show with a live audience just to share in the joy of seeing our friends and neighbors putting themselves out there and having a great time doing it. This show is a huge step forward from the last one and we can only hope to see many more coming in the future. This is just the kind of casual, friendly and very local entertainment that our community needs more of.
