NewsLady
It is time for Boquete Artworks to gather again and we invite you to join us on Friday January 15th at 10:30 a.m. on the 3rd floor of the Boquete Library. We are excited to begin a new year and hope to bring you many interesting gatherings as the year unfolds. On this our first gathering Mary Beth will ‘unveil’ the composite painting we all worked on in November. It was a fun and creative exercise in mixing color and each of us painting a small canvas as part of the composite painting. After the ‘unveiling’ Mike Pots will continue with an open forum about working with color: using the color wheel, how to use complimentary colors for graying and shadows, how to adjust color with glazes and more, including how to avoid using black and white right out of the tube (both of which are considered "amateur mistakes" by many art judges and critics). Mike will also show a 30-minute video on how to mix colors including mixing your own black and how to make a wonderful flesh tone. Knowledge of color theory is critical for any active or aspiring artist. We are looking forward to seeing you all again.
