More than 35 people have been arrested in Panama so far in 2018, in the framework of investigations  carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office (MP) for crimes such as fraud, reported today an official source.

"Among the arrested there are 10 accused of the illegal practice of the profession, 13 for falsehood and 14 for improper use of credit and debit cards," said National Police (PN) Lieutenant Fernando Fanilla.

Fanilla, who is head of the Public Office of the Directorate of Judicial Investigation (DIJ), explained the detention of these 37 people is the result of 17 raids carried out so far this year.

These operational actions have been developed together with the MP and hand in hand with the community, so the PN urged citizens to "continue to report criminal activities and take the necessary prevention measures, to avoid being victims of these and other crimes," reads a statement from the police entity.
