From Heidi Lim Rehm (Mike's) in a Facebook Group:
The new recycling place in town is open! It's next to Boquete Bible Fellowship on the cemetery road. We're helping Gelis, the nice woman running the center, to get the word out so please spread the news. She said they don't take any plastics or colored glass bottles at this time but maybe that will be a possibility in the future. -

The good news is, I have found there ARE labs in Boquete and elsewhere that use "ISO" controls. These are International standards. Meaning they run blind samples and prove their equipment reports results that match the rest of the universe.
It would be extremely helpful if you would provide the names of those labs.

My understanding is that the truck towing the large crane (to the Panamonte/Buenos Aires site) had a mechanical breakdown on the bridge and a large vehicle mechanic was needed to make the repair.

Waiting now for the media (or fake media) coverage of Irma (and her follower, José).

Dreadful time for a meeting - at least for us. We are supportive of any effort to re-establish a recycling program and would welcome it--with full bags!

3 inches in circumference is about an inch wide...doesn't seem to be "Giant" to me. Btw, is he still wearing that aluminum foil conical cap?

There was a breakfast menu board in the restaurant but only the vegetable market was open when we tried to go there one morning last week.
I've been by there many times between 7 and 9 and the restaurant part is not open...breakfast after that becomes brunch for me!
Do you know what their hours are?

I wish they were open for breakfast.

Sorry, Chuck. That inane and degrading question does not merit a response. Oh. Wait. I just did!

Harmony - next to Antojito's. No doubt there are sellers at the BCP.

The Wilson family from South Africa (including Nadine, a former chef at Colibri and Seasons, and her brother who is also a chef). I've also heard they will be putting in a meat cold locker for aging beef.

Went there this morning. They are actually closed on Monday not Tuesday.
Thanks for the correction. Their original flyer said Tuesday. Maybe changed because of the influx of people on Tuesday to the BCP.

Open 7:30 - 5:30. Closed Tuesdays.

I've been told the second Spanish chef has also left. The first has opened a small restaurant in the 3 store building almost opposite Dorado. Used to be Angel's, which sold hamburgers.

I've blocked him and his rose-colored shinola.

The Deli Baru store on Ave. Central closed at 9 am today and will re-open on May 5 in their new location on Ave. Centenario.

Any type of reasonably priced, authentic Asian/Malaysian/East Indian food (with heat/spice level choices) would be welcomed with open wallet by me. I am so tired of having to go to David for mediocre, typically bland Chinese fare.

Without plastic bags, what am I going to do with the scooped cat poop? How are dog walkers supposed to pick up the poop? How are people supposed to throw away disposable diapers, just put them loose in the trash can? And what lines the trash can - nothing, no bag to tie up the trash and put it in the canasta? That is disgusting and unsanitary. This would be an OK law if they replace all the bags with degradable ones, but will they?
Probably not in commercial places, since the biodegradable bags cost more. Or shift the cost onto the consumer with pricing increases.
Perhaps they'll stock and sell them so that people dealing with poop and/or rubbish disposal are able to buy them for personal use. And then it would snow on the top of Baru!

Who is the "expert"? Panama Bill gives me no clue. Is this an opinion of a working legal professional? Credentials and name, please. Too much 'authoritative' translation of the law and opinions of the law here have been damaging to people who have relied on it.

Visited this panadaria for the first time this morning. Located next to Mascotas on the one way. Great selection: braided and unbraided breads, all kinds of rolls (including small hot dog buns that actuallty fit and aren't big-Bimbo doughy), pastries galore, donuts, cakes, cookies. Clean, neat, friendly and good prices.

Yes, to all these comments and suggestions. There was an attempted break-in last Friday night up on the Alto Jaramillo circle ( up past Los Establos) ( seems the thieves have moved from Sanctuario around to Palo Alto and now up the Jaramillo Centro road as I have heard of a couple of others in this area recently) .Friends of mine were at home, had just retired for the evening so most of the lights were out (about 9.30 pm), someone shook the bars covering the front door and then tried the handle and locks. The residents (who were pretty well prepared) heard the noises, jumped out of bed, turned on all the indoor and outdoor lights and fired off their boat horn. They also called Alto Crimen. The police arrived some 35 minutes later. A search was conducted and the friends report that the police were very professional and polite. So nothing was found and nothing was taken. They do have a dog and while its very handsome, it's quite stupid and did not bark at all.
So..there it is...
I will leave the link for correctness but I was interested because I don't remember much happening in those areas.
The teen thugs would have to be from outside Boquete, the locals would know them on sight otherwise.
That was in 2013, long before the Caldera checkpoint. Bonnie's correct with her more current information, IMHO of course.

JuiceMi is open from 8 am to 8 pm, according to the owner, David.
Was there today for a great omelet and super smoothie - and the best cuppa coffe I've had at a local restaurant in a long time.
First time for me, and I'll go back.

Using Covenant, Elysium, and Duckpool Kodi addons for TV and Movie viewing. No problems. I don't know why the "TV Shows" section is not working for you. Works on all 3 for me. If you have Kodi installed on your FireStick and have followed the 17.4 install instructions for the Covenant addon, you should not be having an issue accessing the tv streams. You can always go back, uninstall and reinstall.
