Zuñiga Quartet, which will be arriving in Boquete, ready to evoke love, friendship and romance; the notes of their cello, viola, and two violins will set hearts a-vibrating.     It's already starting to feel a bit like December and our next Christmas series workshop will be: a gingerbread house using cold porcelain. FYI: Cold porcelain is a soft-sculping crafting material most commonly made from cornstarch and white glue, not from porcelain as its name would suggest. The material can also include small amounts of oils and glycerol. It is most often used for at-home crafting and sculpting due to it drying from air exposure rather than heat curing. The material can also be dissolved by heat or water and is used to decorate baked goods and party favors. Participants in this workshop will add their talent and imagination to one of the most popular holiday decorations. The workshop wil take place this coming Monday, October 31, 2022, in one session, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. We invite you to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to decorate your home for the holidays.     The Boquete Library invites you to contemplate a new artistic project in its gallery: Two Peoples, Colors of a Feeling. The exhibit will open this coming Wednesday, October 26, at 2:00 p.m., to commemorate the Black Heritage celebration in Colombia and Panama. During this show, we will unveil a bi-national sample of posters focusing on the region's contribution to its Afro-Colombian/Panamanian heritage. A free event! We look forward to seeing you!

    CHRISTMAS WORKSHOP: APPLYING DÉCOUPAGE TECHNIQUE December will soon be here, and for those who enjoy making Christmas decorations, the Boquete Library invites you to participate in our workshop "Applying Découpage Technique." Led by Sra. María Santamaría, you will learn and apply this technique to jars for containing delicious traditional Christmas treats. Join us for this activity, which will be held on Thursday October 13 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. It will kick off our series of Christmas workshops to be held on the premises.     Expo: Dream Memory In the words of Luz Irene Loría: "This exposition covers the beginnings of Luz Irene Loría's artistic career in the fine arts and her evolution up to the present. Evoking dreams of an exterior world, Dream Memory represents the imaginary reality of encountering life on other planets and of remembering our origin as beings living in a vast universe. This is Luz Loría's first individual show since she began her training in 2005; her artistic career has grown in tandem with her academic work in nature conservation".     The Boquete Library Foundation invites you to attend Boquete's 2022 Fourth Book Fair Commemorating the world of letters, Boquete's Fourth Book Fair once again occupies its literary throne and, from June 23 to 26, seeks to highlight how the content of a text and the peace of a natural setting influence our being. "A book for the mind and a park for the soul" will be our motto for the four days of activities.     Speaking of music in the month of May, the Boquete Library Foundation has orchestrated a presentation by the Camerata Essy Casal, a group made up of the most advanced students of the Children's and Youth Philharmonic Orchestras of Panama, directed by maestro Víctor Mata. For this evening, our young musicians have already prepared the strings of their instruments and are more than ready to offer a repertoire that ranges from the Baroque to the 21st century, passing through Classicism and late Romanticism.
