    The Biblioteca de Boquete wishes to extend an invitation to the public for the next, in its continuing program of musical concerts, to be held at the library on Sunday, February 23rd, beginning at 5:00PM. The concert will be performed by two concert musicians, playing, respectively violin and guitar. The donation for this concert is $15.00. Tickets are available at the reception desk of the library and as always, from our friends at Mail Boxes, Etc. Annual concert memberships, at a reduced rate per concert, are available at the library.

  5. Polish concert pianist, piano teacher and music presenter. Katarina Peers studied at the College of Music in Bielsko-Biala and at the University of Music in Warsaw. She graduated with a Master of Arts Degree in Art and Music. Her career began by teaching at the College of Music in Warsaw for 3 years. She then worked at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw as pianist, music presenter and creator of concert programmes for youth, performing throughout Poland for several years.     The October musical event at the Boquete Library offers a dual presentation. The first portion is provided by the string group of the Mario de Obaldía Alvarado orchestra, directed by the talented and renowned professor Xiomara González. This group will present to us a varied repertoire that includes, among others, the Brandenburg Concertos and Suite Latinoamericana. The second group, known as Trío Monet, comes to us from Costa Rica. Performing on the oboe, horn and piano, they will offer a variety of music, including works by Astor Piazzola, Carlos Gardel and more. Sunday October 27t

    Two virtuosos of the guitar at Boquete Library Make a space in your calendar because this Saturday, July 7th the library will be host of a unique presentation from the 16th International Guitar Festival of Panama. This Festival is organized by the talented Panamanian musician Emiliano Pardo Tristán, who delighted our ears at the last concert. This time we will be visited by two young virtuosos, participants of the festival: Marco Corrales from Costa Rica and Jesús Serrano from Mexico.     The teacher Emiliano Pardo Tristán and Diana Durán will be in charge of our next musical event. With the talent on guitar combined with a wonderful soprano voice, they will give us a tour through half a millennium of music, through songs and dances from different eras. 500 Years of singing and guitar, is the theme of the recital scheduled for all of you this Saturday, June 15th, 2019, at 5:00 p.m., at Boquete Library.     The Baylor Woodwind Quintet, founded in 1972, is conformed by faculty members residing at the School of Music at Baylor University in Waco, TX. For many years, the quintet was the core of the Baylor chamber players (a flexible group formed by duos through larger ensembles that also included percussion and saxophone).     As always, art has a prominent space in Boquete Library. Our next exhibit is in charge of the multidisciplinary visual artist Ariel Jurado. It is a live representation of the variety of emotions art can achieve in humans. The artist is a paintor and sculptor with many years of experience in art; winner of the first place in sculpting at Banco Nacional art contest and has presented in various places like the Arab Emirates.     The Pen Trio, a woodwind group from North America, will join with Federico Díaz, Guitarist from Argentina. The Pen trio is based in North America, but travels much of the world sharing its unique style of music. Federico Diaz is an excellent guitarist who will round out this quartet, for a very special presentation for our enjoyment. These musicians are coming to Panama to participate in the Festival Internacional de Música Alfredo De Saint Malo, organized by la Fundación Sinfonía Concertante de Panamá, which is headed by Isaac Casal, well known to Boquete concert goers.
