  1. Just a reminder that Boquete has a free online community information forum for the exchange of ideas, the posing of questions, and the sharing of local information. Chiriqui.Life (www.chiriqui.life) is devoted not to world affairs or gossip but to discussions of life in Panama and Chiriqui in general, and Boquete in particular. Among its members are many Boquete veterans, long-time residents who possess a historical perspective and deep understanding of the issues we all face. The knowledge they have to share is invaluable to all residents, especially to those who are new or are coming to Panama. Even if you have lived here for a long time, Chiriqui.Life can keep you informed of ongoing activities and special events through its “upcoming events” display. That is because it has a sophisticated community calendar channel on which registered members can post information about their activities and events. Chiriqui.Life is locally owned and administered. It is completely ad-free. Its primary focus is to bring the community together through the exchange of information and discussion of issues related to Boquete and Panama. Share your information and bring your questions to www.chiriqui.life. Sign up and join your neighbors and friends, Marcelyn Jandreau and Bud Huber Sole owners and administrators support@chiriqui.life P.S., It is suggested that first-time visitors to the website click on "Activity > All Activity" link to view the latest discussions. If you need to research a specific issue or begin a discussion, utilize the forum categories.

  5. IT'S FRANC! Since the announcement by Rodny Moreno back in August that he intends to terminate the contract between his business and Alto al Crimen when it expires in 2016, there have been many questions about who would be the operator to continue the operation of the Alto al Crimen Hotline. We are pleased to announce that commencing in the first week of January, Franc (for Francisco) Lugo, a member of our expat community, will take on the operator duties. The AAC Hotline number, 6477-6662, will remain the same. Franc is thoroughly bilingual, having had Puerto Rican parents and having been raised speaking both Spanish and English. Franc grew up in New York City. As an adult he has been an aviation mechanic in the Navy and has worked in the transportation and construction industries. He has been in Boquete since 2009 and is well-known to a lot of us for his participation in many and varied expat activities. He is a member of San Juan Bautista Catholic church and is active in many volunteer groups throughout Boquete. Frank has a can-do attitude and a friendly word for all. You can bet that those traits will transfer to the AAC Hotline service. Alto al Crimen is modernizing its operations in a number of ways. Some of those you can't see because they relate to the scope, maintenance and security of the database which holds information about the 500+ people/families who are registered. We'll also be using a new two-SIM telephone that will allow callers with emergencies to remain on hold while police, fire or medical assistance is called. Then Franc will be able to return to the caller and report about his notification to the appropriate agencies and when they are being dispatched. The second line (with a different cellular service) will also serve as an alternate AAC Hotline number for cases when someone may be calling from an accident or other incident on the road and the cellular service for the main number is weak or unavailable. Another new approach is a powerful tablet computer small enough to be kept with the operator all the time so that full database information can be always available. Moreover, we will have the capability of updating the database by WI-FI via the internet so that it is kept regularly updated. The Board of Alto al Crimen thanks the many loyal supporters of our non-profit foundation and its programs of providing crime prevention and bilingual emergency telephone services to one and all in the community. AAC only works with your donations and support. Our goal is to have every person or family registered for AAC Hotline service to donate a minimum of $20 per year (plus a one-time $10 donation when you receive your resident ID plaque). If you can donate more, you will be helping support our various crime prevention programs and our work with the local police and fire departments. If you are not registered, you can sign up at altoalcrimen.info Click on the bright red rectangle on the right side of the page not far from the top. When you see Franc Lugo at BCP or at local restaurants or other places around town, say hello and tell him about your support for AAC. But if he needs to answer a phone call, please excuse him because he has a good reason. If you need help, he will always be as close as your phone and working for you and the whole community 24 hours per day. Watch for more Alto al Crimen news over the next few days.

Wilbert Alix is coming back to Boquete!!! Please let me know if you would like more information. Thank you, Nevia "THE CLOSEST I’VE EVER COME TO ACCURATELY PREDICTING MY FUTURE IS BY ACTUALLY CREATING IT". Wilbert Alix The Results Course is a deep dive into what manifestation is really about, providing you with plenty of learning opportunities on how to actually live by those principles. It is a learning system that is based on the vital principle that our thoughts create reality, and it teaches us how to grow ideas beyond our brain. At the same time, it goes far beyond only that. The Course is really about transforming yourself at your Core. Results put you in reality. And you always want to be in touch with reality! Because, only from that point it is possible to create the next level. When you are not in touch with reality, you end up drifting in this kind of fantasy of what you hope your life would be.

  16. Good Neighbors of Boquete BUENOS VECINOS de BOQUETE Monthly food support for those who need it most in Boquete Panamá SPONSOR A FAMILY December 2015 Please sponser the family of Amando and his wife Catalina or Other families like Amado and his wife Catalina live in a difficult-to-access two room wooden shack with their four children: Yovany age 11, Yony age 8, Diana age 5 and little Yaneth age 2. They have no electricity or potable water, and cook over a wood fire. Amado (41) was a capable farm worker until intestinal disease struck; now he has grown thin, weak, and unable to support his family by his field labor. He is determined to be well enough to work again in the future. When a Buenos Vecinos volunteer visited for an initial interview, the family's sole meal was chayote boiling in water. Perhaps in this season of abundance and celebration, you might consider Amado's family, and join those who help support the work of Buenos Vecinos de Boquete. TO SPONSOR Armando and his wife Elizabeth or other families like this: DONATE ONLINE: http://www.buenosvecinosdeboquete.com/how-you-can-help We use PayPal for easy and secure transactions. IF YOU PREFER TO DONATE BY CASH, Please contact Louise Orr (panamaleo@gmail.com) for arrangements. When you make that important decision to sponsor-a-family, you have truly become a “good neighbor”. Your contribution of $360 a year or $30 a month (about the cost of a daily latte) goes a long way. Buenos Vecinos de Boquete’s wholesale purchase power enables us to furnish our clients more food than they could purchase on their own in the store with the same amount of money. When you sponsor-a-family for a year ($360), your name will be added to our “Coconut Foundation” as an acknowledgement of your concern and generosity. Document
