  1. Maybe you were “sort of lucky” with the lost paperwork.

Our experience was that a listed beneficiary was someone we didn’t even know!

We now check for name(s) listed as beneficiary on our bank account on a regular basis plus request written letter from bank manager indicating date & names on our documentation.

  2. Isabella’s Bakery & More.   Isabella Fasano is owner and chef of this eatery located in Bajo Boquete, diagonal from the Police station and next door to an auto parts supplier. We enjoyed a  berry pie with ice cream and took home an individual pecan pie. Her menu includes coffees and sandwiches. Special salads will soon be added.

Here’ a copy of her business card plus some pictures.

  3. Traffic in downtown Boquete today (Saturday) was very busy. I’m standing on Calle Principal waiting and waiting to cross the street, when a gracious Panamanian male saw me as a gringa in a predicament. He said “follow me”,  moved into the street, held up his hand to stop all vehicles, and we crossed the street safely under his escort. I smiled, waved and yelled gracias as my benefactor returned to his original position.

  4. Anyone else noticed the (large) number of homes for sale in the Boquete area? Many of these houses are big, beautiful, and expensive. Others, maybe not so much. Lots of variety.

I know many of our friends are returning to the U.S. because of health reasons, others are moving to another country to continue their life journey, and others claim they are tired of  problems with roads and water system.

What are your criteria for where you want to live? Have these items changed since you came to Boquete? What’s right for one group may not work for another. One couple said they have limited funds and costs are too expensive in Boquete to fit their budget. “Nothing new here and too many friends have left” is something else I hear.

Not sure of the reasons or when the property sales will settle. Almost hesitant to visit with friends; afraid to learn their decisions about life in Boquete.

    What say you?
