Interesting....I requested to be permanently deleted from NING in a post. (puleeze delete B&A in Brisas)    Next post a newcomer inserted the  YouTube Song: "Please Release Me " ( actually kinda funny)....then the NING administration posted this exact thumbs up...which apparently was copied from here (or so it might seem).  In other words: "You are released...and good riddance".   Nice.

  2. I think Bud and his wife nailed what we enjoy and would be looking for.  Back 8 years ago or so, the NING site was helpful to those wondering what life might be like here.  It was quite a valuable resource.  Learning about Panama politics and government procedures was made so much less a struggle...as laws do change. Lee was so good at sussing all that out.  I remember the long detailed instruction sheet Martine Heyer posted on how to cross the CR border with your car....wow, what a godsend that was!  Hey...it was a ton of useful information.  It all made our lives here run smoother when we learned from others mistakes  and shared what they learned.  Listen, we have elected to no longer live in Kansas and with that comes the dues we all pay in do doing.  When we support each other in our lives here....wow, such a blessing life can be! (..Don Ray comes to mind as well.  What a saint that man is.)  So anyway, I think CL has hit the nail on the head.

  3. Yah know, I really miss Lee Zeltzer.  That said I am so very grateful that Bud took the torch up and ran with it.  It feels like home...a safe and happy place where folks care for one another.  Hey it's not utopia...but by contrast it's a breath of fresh air.......ChiriquiLife.  I'm very thankful.

  4. Content?  what content?   Very little there anymore that enriches a person's life here in Boquete and the vicinity.  Fewer posters, less information that has real value to anyone who considers relocating here or improving their life here.  Offputting consipracy theory kinda stuff, political drivel.....and stupid banter.  Yes....it died so why go there. That's pretty much why I left...........kicking an ole timer in the ass while they walk out the door was a classic touch of the administration's maturity level.

  5. Best of luck to all of you.  Hope you get a neighborhood watch program going and get 100% connected as a community.  Brisas Boquetenas now is 95 % connected by maps, phone and email.  We now have been recognized by the Vecinos Vigilantes police group and have officers of our organization.  New signs.  Neighborhood security has been beefed up in many different ways.  Police now patrol regularly day and night by vehicle and on foot.  The best benefit is getting to know one another and pulling together as a community.  When you have the majority of residents watching and staying connected it's like a mega-gated community !

Best wishes to you all !

Alison Brundage, Secretary Vecinos Vigilantes de Brisas Boquetenas

  6. Hate to turn Boquete into the Hatfields and McCoys.   The horse died as far as I can see...why poke it?   The corpse will get hauled off shortly.  I'm still a bit hurt and pissed at the same time and I have to say ( being honest) the idea seems like a good one to me today.  After taking in a deep breath however I'd say just let it go...we have moved on .

  7. CHANGE...come  live in a foreign country and it happens.  You tried your best.  I asked to be deleted today and was.   Next post somebody posted the video song "Please Release Me" which I though was actually pretty funny until Ambreen (or the powers that be over there) posted a huge picture of a thumbs-up....ya know? the kick in the ass as you walk out the door. That's the mentality, and it verbalized by the administration for all to see.  Hurtful on purpose.

  8. Ok...suddenly that post on my desire to leave NING mysteriously re-appears ( after I wrote this here).  Then  the very next  post from by a newer poster is a video song "Please release me"  (  I can buy the humor and it's ok) .  Ambreen's very next post is merely a HUGE thumbs-up picture.  ( I know Bud would never do something like that. ) On NING I have not held back from voicing my opinion, and some may not have liked it...but I do hope I have never been purposefully hurtful.  Ambreen the administrator of NING went out of the way to be purposefully hurtful ....because I asked to leave.

  9. Ok...I have had my access to NING deleted effectively.   Everything is gone to include lots of some pretty neat photos...years of the beauty of Panama and it's people...gone. .   What also went (twice) is my posted reason for my request to be removed from NING.  The reason I left seemed to have been removed yet other comments I have written are still there...    Why not just disappear all of me?....I was willing.

  10. Picnic lunch at Cangelones in Gualacaaa6VZ5.jpg

    Zipline for adventure and excitement.

Fun to just ride around and see the vistas.   Cero Punta with fantastic views.  Once over there there's Las Bariles the archaeology site.  The drive to Rio Serena is pretty.   Seeing all the fancy houses on the hillsides around Boquete.  Tuesday market of course.  When in Panama City they should not miss the Panama Canal; and the PC museum and show.     Just some thoughts.............

  11. ooops.  My request posted on the forum  (in that Ambreen does not respond to my personal messages sent)...get this, that request to be removed fromm NING post got immediately removed...yet MY PAGE and apparent privileges remain.  There seems to be some confusion over there.  I re-posted my request to be nixed outta there in the same thread.  Lets see if it takes this time.

  12. My hunch is it helps to rub elbows with somebody important who likes you a lot......
Bud...maybe you need to be drinking more Abuelo and writing some public testimonies...just a thought.  If you have to start going to 12 step meetings before you get your N-Cedula  let us know would ya?

  13. We live in Brisas Boquetenas.  Both Tropi and Panagas service our community.  The trucks loaded with tanks drive through and will actually beep or come to our door to ask if we need a new tank from time to time.  Each company will take the others tank.  They have always brought the tank to our tank area and change it for us.  They also will do occasional repairs if you smell a leak.  We always tip the fellows a couple of bucks.   Our tanks last 3 months and we have gas on demand water heater, dryer, and stove.  We have two tanks and they are secured inside a locked storage area....   Theft of tanks is common...lock them.

  14. Well the BEST thing is to develop an awareness of where they are and the avoid those places.  High grass, bush clusters, dead leaves, rotten logs, moist areas, banks of river beds among rocks, caves, dark corners behind things..in your garage( found one there) or behind your propane gas tank  ....then have a long walking stick that goes before you .

Get the victim to the Regional Medical Center ASAP.  Call Rodny to alert the hospital an possibly police en-route (just a thought) .  REGIONAL...not a private hospital.

Locals tell me that evidence of "what snake' needs to accompany the patient.  The gardener that was bit at a house next to us was being put into a car while his son whacked the snake to take with them...  I assume you could take a picture.

I believe a tourniquet above the bite is old medicine and an ace wrapping starting from above to end at the bite is more current...but I am not an expert.   Seems ice would not be a bad idea.  These are my thoughts on it...but again, I'm no expert.
