Keith Woolford
There are reports of a shootout occurring this morning in front of the Anglo Panameño Colegio in David as parents were dropping off students. This is the big high school behind the Bus station. A stray bullet caught a Bus driver who was gravely injured. Suspects, firearms and vehicles were detained by Police. This all apparently occurred after a victim who was making a deposit at a nearby Bank was robbed and then pursued his aggressors. Yikes! Individuals, apparently under the age of 18, fled after stealing from this person, but on Avenida Francisco Clark - before the Transport Terminal of David, they collided with the driver of an SUV. The bus driver of the David-Puerto Armuelles route, seeing that the subjects were trying to leave the scene of the accident, sought to prevent a getaway himself. For that reason the criminals fired a weapon, wounding him in the head. The National Police (PN), after the fact, set up roadblocks and located an abandoned vehicle.
