NewsLady Posted November 3, 2015 Share Posted November 3, 2015 Policemen with Policia Nacional paid us a visit this morning at 9:30 in Palo Alto near the Inn at Palo Alto.After showing us their credentials, picture IDs and badges, they began to inform us the reason for their visit.So there was an assault on a young adult by drunken young men ...took place yesterday 8:00 a.m. The victim was attacked and robbed. The location of this assault was down by our road where the river flows...TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT! This is at our front door...Palo Alto! The police mentioned the perps are from Palmira. The police were looking for witnesses and hoped we might be of some assistance.I was quite alarmed that this could happen in a serene, peaceful location but obviously no location is exempt. They were very reassuring letting us know that their mission is to restore security to this neighborhood as well as other neighborhoods. They asked us to continue to be AWARE of our surroundings and to have means of protecting ourselves.They also alerted us to a separate crime situation - two women driving a white Nissan car are suspects in past criminal activity and have not yet been apprehended.We did witness yesterday during the morning a white Nissan car driving in halfway to our driveway, stopped, then turned around and drove away. One could see a woman on the passenger side, could not see the driver due to heavy window tint. Police advised us to call them and to take pics of vehicles not belonging on our property.They further advised us to call them direct if we witnessed any adults grouped together in any where in this area. They want to question them and stay on top of things before things escalate.The policement left the following phone numbers - Policia Nacional 720-1222 or 720-2145.
