Body Found in Los Naranjos

After receiving an anonymous tip, authorities located and removed the body of an unidentified female yesterday which had been buried near the river by Los Ladrillos in Los Naranjos.

There is speculation that this may be related to a case of a missing person.

According to TVN Channel 2, the young man who killed the woman confessed the crime and lead the Police where he buried the body.  He is under arrest now

That is why in Panama a homicide done to a women is more punishable.  It is called Femicide and the judges are very strict and usually murderers have the full time in jail.

This case goes to court on February 13th. The accused, the woman's husband who confessed, is expected to plead guilty in exchange for consideration.

Asesino de mujer en Chiriquí, irá a audiencia el 13 de febrero

Roger Samudio, asesino confeso de Danelis Cubilla, enfrentará el próximo lunes 13 de febrero, audiencia de formulación de acusación por feminicidio, en donde es muy probable que solicite un acuerdo de pena al Ministerio Público.

Abdiel Sánchez, abogado de Samudio, adelantó que tras confesar su crimen, ha colaborado abiertamente con las autoridades en las etapas de investigación, de allí que solicite un acuerdo de pena, para no dilatar el proceso.

Danelis Cubilla, de 24 años de edad, fue reportada como desaparecida por su madre a finales de febrero del 2016, pero no fue hasta julio de ese año que Samudio, quien era su esposo, confesó haberla asesinado y enterrado en la ribera del río El Caldera en el distrito de Boquete.
