Panama will host the Ibero-American justice ministers meeting

Panama will host in March the meeting of national coordinators of the Conference of Ministers of Justice of the Ibero-American Countries (Comjib), preparatory for the plenary that the ministers will have in Colombia in June 2019, an official source reported today

The next meeting of the coordinators of the Comjib will be held in Panama City from March 20 to 22, 2019, the Panamanian Ministry of Government (Mingob) said in a public statement.

At the Extraordinary Plenary Assembly of the Comjib, which is currently taking place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Panama was chosen to prepare the XXI Plenary Assembly of Ministers of Justice to be held in Colombia in June 2019, the Mingob said.

The Comjib groups together the Ministries of Justice and similar institutions of the countries of the Ibero-American Community, and aims to study and promote forms of legal cooperation among the member states.

It is also an observer body of the General Assembly of the United Nations.

The member countries are Argentina, Andorra, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela .
