The activity called "The Role of Youth in the future of the Panama Canal," which will take place on December 6, aims to share ideas, as well as to examine the short and long term perspectives, said the entity that governs the canal route. The meeting, which takes place for the second time, will be held at the permanent headquarters of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (Parlatino), located on the banks of the Canal. The forum aimed at people between 15 and 30 years, aims to provide useful and reliable information, as well as encourage attendees to be actively involved in decisions to ensure the competitiveness and value of the interoceanic route. The activities that will include the meeting will be: plenaries with the Canal administrator, Jorge Quijano; work tables based on institutionality, competitiveness and sustainability; and the signing of an intergenerational commitment.
