The most important roadway in Panama is the inter-american highway. Recently, the eastbound span over the Rio Piedra near Concepcion was finally opened to little fanfare.
This was the second time in the past 10 years that half of this bridge was not usable.
I had been wondering how long these latest repairs had taken when I re-discovered today an article in Lee Zeltzer's Boquete guide. Four years. FOUR YEARS. Thanks heaven the other side held.

Bantering...the hallmark of a vibrant and successful forum. :-)

Damn, glad I'm not the one who has to sort all these posts out according to topic.
One of the MOST interesting things about the old .ning in my opinion is that so often things went crazily off-course.
To each their own....

I mostly agree with you. Still, I was a bit surprised like Judy that the rules pertaining to language are apparently more strict on CL than on BN. Language buffers seem to be built in.
At least I now know that my use of the word "poop" will not be tampered with. :-)
Personally, I'm hoping that the pooping Ruta Sur will be completed.

Lol...well no doubt this site is becoming more entertaining...:-)

Unfair? Why? And why the use of an exclamation mark? THIS is the kind of thing that you find upsetting?
George Carlin's comedy bit about the seven "terrible" words dates back to 1972. 43 years ago.

Words, by themselves are not really smut, they are just words - words you can hear on a ton of TV broadcasts, in casual conversation, etc.
But, whatever.....
BTW, is there a list of verbotten words? Can we, for example, use words like screw or poop, or are these too offensive as well?

Lynnie has been singing this song for a long time. The truth is that anyone who knows Keith, or has used his services can attest to how helpful he has been.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. My opinion is, that if you polled people who have done business with Keith, you would likely find some pretty happy people.
Go ahead, Lynnie - call me a pain in the ass again.

Those pot holes are turning into craters,
Oh, Pothole!!
There it is! But it's too late.
That pothole pulled me in, like fate.
My tire thuds, my car it shakes.
I shout, I brake, please be a mistake.
No, I hit it. Loud and proud.
That pothole smiles; I yell aloud.
I am sure it laughed and giggled too.
Got your tire, bent your rim too.
Oh, pothole how dare you! Take it back.
You sucked me in so deep and black.
Now my day it has been shot.
No turning back from what was lost.
Tomorrow I will remember it's there. When I see it I will glare.
I will tell it watch me now.
And swerve around it oh so proud.
But alas, we both know.
I'll forget and drive right into you, pothole.

Nice, but not quite up to the literary standards established by "Cloudless" recently.
When asked by Bob Hunter to provide a poem titled "Happy Clouds", he/she responded;
"Happy clouds
Filled with puffed up arrogance
**** you"
Haiku? How 'bout you?
Sorry, off-topic, but I couldn't resist.

Spread The Good Word!, says Ambreen. I imagine it won't be long before we can ALL let the joyous news be spread:

"Even when (or if) up and running as intended, it will be no more than a way station on the path to a real hospital."
I tend to agree with this. The "hospital" is, as of now, only open during daytime hours. Waiting rooms filled with young women & their babies.
Doctors are on a rotating basis, so you will never be certain which doctors are available.
Lab work, such as urine samples, needed for a diagnosis can only be submitted sometime before 8 A.M.
On the other hand, if emergencies that require a certain level of stabilization are required (fluids, for example) this can be offered, as can pharmaceuticals at a reduced price. The cost of seeing a doctor here is almost nothing.

Who, in the frick is Bob Hunter, anyway? Does anyone in Boquete know this guy?

On nearly a daily basis, sometimes more often, the same small group of people (you can count them on one hand) feel obligated to defend the new .ning owners/moderators on that site.
Previous to the new owners taking over, these folks had pretty much never posted on or made their presence known. One person, who claims to have been a friend of Lee Zeltzer's even goes so far as to make statements that are basically exactly the same as the moderators have made in defending their actions. There's something wrong with this picture....

There used to be a "new content" button at the top of the page. Is this now being done automatically, or...?

"There is some good value recorded on the old Ning that would be good to be included on Chiriqui.Life." Yeah, probably content added by members that have been banned from or left Boquete.ning.

I have posted many things disparaging of the new .ning. I make no apologies, nor have I ever been contacted by ANYONE who is interested in some kind of collaborative effort toward their demise. But frankly, that is not a bad idea. Thanks, Debbie, we'll get right on that. :-)

Complaining about getting dumped from .ning? No, its more about the loss of an old friend, and about the rude and clueless way the new owners/moderators have behaved. They don't get a pass. People, myself included, are pissed about what these idiots have done, and probably even more about the way in which they have done it. Sure, we can & will all move on - that doesn't mean we forgive these jerk-wads for what they have done.

I think he pretty much has already abandoned, like the rest of us after it became clear that the owners over there haven't a clue. I agree with you - Keith's a good guy.

Ouch..

What name do you post under here on CL?
C'mon we KNOW you read all the postings here related to the failed .ning site!
If you haven't yet signed up, perhaps we could suggest a few choice screen names for ya.

Wow. Keith, driving by, it seems that there is a dam below the bridge. Is there one upriver, as well?
