Do the laws not apply to the indigenous people of Chiriqui? It sure seems to me that every 15 year old girl is already a mother.

LOL, you might expect the article to give a hint about the nature of the denunciation against President Varela, but you would be sadly mistaken.

I don't understand the controversy. There already was a road to the summit. It was dangerous, but it was there and being used.
It is a good thing that more people have access to a spectacular site. Presumably, these folks would oppose a road to Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, or Lake Louise.

My personal observations suggest that ALTO means "stop if you want to."

I wonder who Kenny Serracin was. Google doesn't seem to know.

Seriously??? The embassy only answers the phone for 90 minutes a day?
What private business could get away with that policy?

Nope.
I think Panama is making more than a token effort to reduce corruption, but it's still systemic.

Actually, many people just browse ‘Latest Activity’ on C.L. and other sites which requires no navigation, just a bookmark.
That, by far, is the fastest way to check in.

Hokey Smokes, Bullwinkle!
No matter how skilled the knitters and quilters are, that represents a lot of time and love.

Speeding into Boquete won't work for long.

From the packaging, it appears to be a Turkish toothpaste. What the heck is it doing in Panama?

The first report was Fake News! !

I'm surprised the firm survived this long. The global notoriety ensured that clients would leave and no new ones would come.

An overheated battery caused the computer to explode? Is this really possible?
Technically, the battery exploded. Recently, HP recalled 50,000 batteries that were a fire or explosion hazard. I'm curious what brand of computer this one was.

I trust that it is delicious because it sure looks like a ton of work even after you find a lemongrass shrub.

What provoked this, if anything?

At best, it is just dumb to schedule two major sales on the same day. Nobody benefits from that.
-
I'll bet most people can visit both sales if they want to.

The story didn't make it clear, but those sea snakes were not at Isla Iguana, but along a stretch of mainland beach in the same district. Out of curiosity, I did a little investigation of the yellow bellied sea snake. (Hydrophis platurus). While they are venomous, they aren't aggressive. Almost all bites are to fisherman who accidentally net them along with their catch.

That's good news. The island is worth visiting to see the hundreds of soaring frigates, among other things.

This audit covers only the Martinelli years. Is there any reason to think this corruption and theft ended in 2014?

That would imply that the roads and drivers are better in Panama, which defies common sense. Maybe if I could figure out how many vehicles per capita are on the roads...
The population of Panama is about the same as Houston, Texas. How many vehicle accidents per day there? I dunno. A bunch.

What a terrific post!

Interesting statistic, although I don't know how to put it into perspective. Google tells me that there are over 30,000 traffic accidents in the USA every day.

Nope, although I mostly shop Do-it and Cochez. What do you need it for?
