  1. Bad timing. I don't live in the Boquete area, but went there yesterday to see the fair. It was so crowded that I wished I had not gone. Nice things to see, but of so crowded. I say bad timing because you ask people to go to BCP to register, but gosh oh golly will it be worth the effort and time to get to BCP? What about access and parking? Just saying you could've scheduled this a week earlier or a week later.

  2. I was trying to wrap my aging brain around this topic for this coming Tuesday, but not succeeding. Was considering going to this talk but since I live near David it is a hassle for me to go there.

Ended up doing some internet research. Yes, I know the internet has a lot of crap, but I am pretty good at filtering out crap.

I found one Guardian article that kinda helped me to begin to see the bigger picture. Learned that there are two domains of this “internet of” thinking: Internet of Things, and Internet of People. This talk by Kevin is on the second concept.

You might want to review the Guardian article that I uncovered before going to BCP next Tuesday: https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/may/25/forget-internet-of-things-people

I am still thinking about whether I jump on a bus to go to listen. Not knowing how savvy Kevin is on this topic is part of my concern. For Kevin, I don’t mean that as an insult. I just don’t think of the majority of people in Panama — both Panamanian and guests — as being super sophisticated. The description says he is a “Chapter Leader” for the people group so hopefully he sees the bigger picture and the issues involved.

For me thie biggest concern is over loss of privacy.

...we were fortunate to raise money towards the purchase a new stove for the Boquete Police Department.

    Dear Linda,

This is a very nice follow through on your High Tea. I rarely (other than for Amigos Animales) see something after the fact that talks about what amount was raised or accomplished from all of these fund raising activities. Yours is refreshingly transparent and specific. Thank you for taking the time to let the community know of your successes and accomplishments.

One would have thought that the police department would have already had a stove, but then this is a country needing many things. Glad you folk are making a difference for the people who help protect us.

  4. Sounds like a fun thing to do. I’ve eaten at Casa Mexicana a few times and like it. The thing that stands out to me is the cleanliness. I can’t see the kitchen but don’t concern myself because they seem to understand this is a restaurant, and health issues such as keeping things clean is important. I wouldn’t call this place a típico.

SinceI I don’t live in Boquete, it doesn’t make sense for me to join your bus party. I am fairly close to this place already.

Hope yall have fun.I know you will enjoy the food and service. This is one of my favorite eateries in David.

  5. I wanted to hear the talk today at BPC theatre and so went there. Horrible mess in the parking lot. Some turkey with a white truck seems to think he owned the place and bloced the exit. What a mess. I saw Pennys comment about the rude people in the auditorium, but it does not get close to the safety and health issues related to this turkey. I hear one guy in the parking lot suggest we should just have it towed away. I kind of agree. People could only back out of the parking lot, which caused a real problem for everyone, plus those who are not good at backing up in tight situations. The parking guy Frank was doing the best he could with this mess. Here's the pic taken with my phone. You can see another car behind the truck starting its backup but then another car came in shortly after this photo was taken and things got dicey.
