The race to obtain the candidacy for the free nomination for Mayor of Panama, the second most important popular election position in the country, is led by the current independent deputy Edison Broce.

According to the update of support signatures for the pre-candidates for free application, Broce registers 53,674 support signatures accepted by the Electoral Tribunal (TE).In second position is Iván Marcel Blasser with 44,479 accumulated signatures, in third position Luis Casis with 18,391 and Luis Pinedo with 12,103. The process of collecting support signatures for candidates for free nomination ends on July 30 and on August 1, the TE will publish in the Electoral Bulletin the number of signatures that the pre-candidate presented.
