Three minors aged one, four, and nine years old are in the Children’s Hospital after suffering burns on their bodies, when a fire broke out in a room of a hostel where they lived in Curundú.

Residents of the site tried to put out the flames while waiting for the firefighters to arrive. In the end, four apartments were damaged.

One of the residents stated that the incident occurred at 6:00 am, due to a short circuit. She said that the system has been deficient and that they have filed a complaint, but no one attends to them.

The fire was attended by units from the Calidonia, Plaza Amador, and Balboa fire stations.

Some four families lost their belongings and between 14 and 16 families were  affected by the smoke

The brothers, aged six and one, who survived the fire in Curundú hostel were transferred on Thursday, January 19, to a hospital in Galveston, United States.

The process was made possible through the Abou Saad Shriners Foundation.

Their seven-year-old brother who also had serious burns died at the Children's Hospital on Tuesday.

Although the flight was delayed, an ambulance plane that will take them to the United States was expected to land at Thursday at the presidential hangar.

They traveled with their mother, for whom it was reported that the visa process was carried out to guarantee entry to the United States.

The foundation reported that once they arrive in Galveston, Texas, they will be cared for by specialized personnel who will offer them state -of-the-art treatments.
