Boquete Music & Arts Festival 2018 -
My apologies.
Last night most of Boquete was without electricity for several extended periods
David's Feria was also black.
Apparently the new stadium has it's own power feed.
-
If David was also black for the last 80 minutes
don't you wonder how the President's opening ceremony went
at the new Stadium
in the dark?

The Boquete Jazz & Blues Festival (BJBF) is now called the Boquete Music & Arts Festival (BMAF) to better express the expanded activities and the fair grounds provide the ideal setting for these wider objectives.

Nearly 140 years after Edison started the first distribution company it amazes me that Panama (Fenosa) is still having difficulty delivering consistent, reliable power, with nothing more than wind (or rain) as a natural bogey man. Hard to remember a week without any interruptions.
No one has ever explained to me why our power goes off regularly for a minute or two and then comes back on. Why is it happening so often in the first place? Switching within the grid? Really?
No one is expecting a "1st World" electrical system - - - but what exactly do we have? 2nd? 3rd? Something in between?
HOLLY COW. Just went off again!
Now back on after a 10 minute delay.
So lets hear from the electrical engineers as to why this is happening.

How on earth would it make any economic sense to build one to a city of 150,000?
There are plenty of people enamoured with anything China claims to be behind. Sound economics don’t matter to them
Lots of them would also “like to see a high speed train to Panama City” much like I would like to fly/drive a “helicopter/motorcyle” over the mountains to Bocas.

And it's been cold and rainy--and sometimes windy--for days on end. Does anybody have any good news about the weather?
Bonnie,
I have been trying to film the Feria including aerial footage for eight consecutive days with no success - - - now only three days to go.

It's not unusual in the sense that it always rains during the week of the Fair, but certainly the wind and the long-lasting nature is unusual.
In seven years of observing NASA satellites I have never seen a disruptive weather pattern during any previous Feria like this one.
Bleak.
