NewsLady Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Boquete Knitters and Quilters are proud to announce that this week we delivered over 135 items to the two clinics that we supply: the Centro de Salud next to Romero and the Clinica in Palmira. We produce approximately the same number of items every six weeks or so. Quilts, knitted and crochet blankets, caps, booties and sweaters will be given to the clients served by these clinics. You do not have to knit, crochet or quilt to help us provide warmth, softness and beauty to our neighbors. If you visit the States or Canada, stop by Joann, Michael's, Hobby Lobby or Walmart (you know you'll hit Walmart!) and pick up 2-3 skeins of yarn to bring back. We use acrylic yarn: Caron Simply Soft, Red Heart Soft, Lion Brand Pound of Love, Lion Brand Homespun are all wonderful! If you have friends or family visiting, ask them if they'd mind bringing some yarn down. It weighs little and squishes beautifully into the corner of a suitcase. And it allows us to continue our work. If you'd like to knit/crochet with us, we meet on Friday afternoons from 1-3PM at the Fundacion pro Integracion (Handicap Foundation) in Alto Boquete, approximately 2KM south of SuperCentro Ivan.
