Deputy Yanibel Ábrego, from Cambio Democrático (CD) last week called herself: "the poor ... the daughter of a fisherman.", and a victim of attacks perpetrated by La Prensa, for being of humble origin and aspiring to replace Rómulo Roux in the presidency of CD.

“This is a class struggle. This is nothing else. Yanibel Ábrego, the poor thing, cannot aspire [to direct CD], because she is the daughter of a fisherman… ”, complained the deputy, after an investigation by La Prensa revealed details of her family and her private businesses with public servants who are at her service, but paid with money from the National  Assembly.

Ábrego complained that she lives in his “humble” house in Capira, so La Prensa   investigated her properties located in her electoral circuit.

The Capireña deputy referred to one of her properties, which is located in the Santa Rosa sector, in Capira, whose luxury contrasts with the modest houses of her neighbors.

The residence is equipped with a swimming pool and Jacuzzi, an integrated barbecue and bar, and a gazebo. On the property, La Prensa observed that there were several vehicles parked: three-four wheels, one all-terrain car, two small buses, and three pickups. In the back part of the land, which the official travels on a four-wheel, she built an artificial lake and cultivates bananas, among other uses, with the help of an irrigation system.

In this residence, last February, the deputy Ábrego celebrated her wedding with the former deputy and current secretary-general of the AN, Quibian Panay, with guests who arrived in luxurious cars and trucks. Her neighbors remember the party, lasted until the early hours of the morning and even the uninvited enjoyed it. “The fireworks were spectacular. They seemed like those Disney images that you see on television, that you see above the castle ”, commented one, who saw the show from the patio of her home.

The couple recently bought a new home for $300,000 in an upscale area of Panama City and travel to their weekend home in a chauffer-driven 4x4.
