The owners/administrators of the Chiriqui.Life (CL) website are pleased to announce the release of a video recording of the July 1st BCP "Community Chat" event that was held at the Biblioteca de Boquete. Dr. Newton Osborne talks about his fascinating career as a Panamanian who attended medical school in the United States and practiced there for many years. When he retired, he and his wife returned to the land of his birth. His biggest desire was to be of medical service to the poorest of Panamanians. He discusses the status of maternal care and mortality, especially in the comarca, and efforts to reduce mortality through expanded prenatal care, more inclusive diagnostics, improved nutrition, etc. Some of the statistics he provides are distressing.
