Cafe La Villa and BodyMind Dojo Present
A Contact Improv Dance Class
Weds, June 9th from 3:00 to 4:30 pm

Dancing is a way to stay fit for people of all ages, shapes and sizes. It has a wide range of physical and mental benefits including:

  • improved condition of your heart and lungs
  • increased muscular strength
  • endurance and motor fitness
  • improved muscle tone and strength
  • weight management
  • stronger bones and reduced risk of osteoporosis
  • better coordination, agility and flexibility
  • improved balance and spatial awareness
  • improved general and psychological well being
  • greater self-confidence and self-esteem.
Next Wednesday (June 9th) at Cafe La Villa (BCP), you are invited to explore the concept of improvising movement through touch, pressure and gravity. Andei will begin by introducing some simple principles of Tai Chi and Feldenkrais, followed by a free movement session.
By first paying attention to small and very specific movements, you will discover your resistance to movement and fluidity. Once you are more clear how your body moves, I will introduce you to "playing" through improvisation, in a very safe way.  Imagine dancing with gravity, or
 your shadow
.  In this way you can use your body to communicate with others as you move through space.
So come and watch
, participate
(no fees),
or just enjoy a brownie and a cup of coffee this coming Wednesday from 3:00 to 4:30 pm at Cafe La Villa.
