Your Donations at Work**

With the closing of the MINSA clinic due to a case of the Coronavirus, the doctors of Boquete have been working out of the Policlinica.  When a recent communication with Dra. Digna Diaz highlighted that the healthcare workers did not have enough PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to work safely, two of the volunteer organizations in Boquete decided to help.

Boquete Health and Hospice and Club Rotario de Boquete investigated what the Policlinicia and the three Bajo Boquete doctors’ offices needed.  The items required are N95 masks, surgical masks, Disposable gowns and face shields.  A source was located in David and an order was placed on Tuesday, April 21.

Laura Daniel, President of Club Rotario de Boquete and Lesley Hughes, President of Boquete Health and Hospice worked together in order to bring the items to Boquete on April 24.  The supplies were distributed to the Policlinica, Alfa Clinic, Clinic Especializada, and Dra. L. Boya.

By assisting the healthcare workers in obtaining the necessary PPE, both Club Rotary and BHH are hoping to keep our medical staffs healthy.  Your donations enabled us to purchase these items.

**In addition to allowing Boquete Health and Hospice to assist in providing our healthcare workers adequate protective items, your donations allow for the purchase of equipment for loan; the storage facilities we use to keep the unused equipment safe and clean; training and education materials.  Your donations are gratefully accepted.

Thank you all for donating.

Letter from Our President

Boquete Health and Hospice is still working, although in a slightly different manner.

It Is Published!!
The newly revised “Being Prepared in Boquete for Life and Death” is now available.  Printed copies are at MBE (Mail Boxes Etc.) in downtown Boquete for a minimum donation of $10.00 and electronic copies are available for a minimum donation of $5.00 by PayPal using the donation button on the website (boquetehealth.org).  The guide will give you the information necessary to prepare for end-of-life issues.  The information you will need will be easily available when emotions make thinking difficult.

Equipment:
While we are not doing any home visits, we are still available for equipment loan, if needed.  If you or someone you know needs a wheelchair, crutches, bedside commode, cane, or other small equipment, and can come to our locker in Alto Boquete to get it, we can help.

All our equipment is cleaned and sanitized when we receive it back and again before we lend it out, so you can be confident that it is safe to use.  Our volunteers are masked and gloved for their and your safety.
