Panamanians join Antarctica mission

A captain of the National Aeronaval Service (Senan), Jorge Lombardo set sail to Antarctica on  Wednesday, December 11, aboard the BAP-Carrasco ship of the Peruvian Navy. For the first phase of the ANTAR XXVII expedition.

Another Panamanian officer, Lieutenant Albin Bello, will leave in January to participate in the second phase of the mission..

Lombardo and Bello will participate in hydrography, oceanography and marine biology studies.

The ship sailed from the port of Callao.
