The resolution signed at the Biomuseo, on the Amador Causeway by Minister of Environment, Milciades Concepción, also establishes protection for Estivá Island, which constitute an important habitat for bird species. The islands of Boná and Estivá, located in the Gulf of Panama, are used by several bird species to nest. The protected area covers an area of 92.63 hectares.the marine area covers 3,885 square kilometers.
