In September alone, the police seized 218 weapons of different types used to commit crimes on the streets including “Thirty-one shotguns, five rifles, a submachine gun two rifles, and two fragmentation grenades” says Jorge Miranda, director of the National Police. In the past administration, more than 7.000 illegal firearms, were taken out of circulation.
