Tuesday, August 27 – Dr. Michael Hillyer will continue his discussion of Dry Needling and explain how this technique can help with chronic pain.

Tuesday, September 3 –   Biblioteca de Boquete Rita is a volunteer from Biblioteca de Boquete and will give a presentation on the resources and programs offered at Boquete’s library.  This beautiful building houses books in English with the majority in Spanish.    There are computers for use and artworks on display.

Tuesday September 10 – Jess  Ecuestreanna will give a talk about poisonous snakes located in Boquete and Panama in general.  With over 20 years living in Central America and doing field work identifying venomous and non-venomous snakes, and working with colleagues in Costa Rica, she has many stories to tell about identifying new species and establishing their habitat in Panamá and right here in Boquete!

Tuesday, September 24Giving Back in Panama   How to "weave" charity into the Panama experience to give back, help others and have fun!!  Rosalind Levy Baitel is a 30-year expat resident of Panama, married to a Panamanian and has raised 3 children here in the country.  She has been involved in many charitable organizations over the years, and founded Promises Panama, a thrift shop whose proceeds benefit several charities in the Panama City area. She will share insider tips, resources and contacts, and will have a question and answer session at the end of her Talk.

Tuesday, October 1 – The Healthy Living Series by Boquete Health and Hospice Presents

Diabetes: How Sweet It Is - NOT. 

 

Linda Archer will present this topic. Linda has over 40 years of diverse experiences as an RN working in ICU, Critical Care, ER and a focus on cardiovascular.  Prior to moving to Boquete, Linda taught nursing assistants at a career school.  Linda serves as the Boquete Health and Hospice CPR Coordinator for training. Bring your questions.

Tuesday, October 8 – Dogcamp  A presentation by Magaly Bustamente, one of the founders of this dog and cat rescue organization that also houses rescued animals.  They work with other rescue organizations to locate, foster and find permanent homes and arrange for spaying and neutering at Amigos de Animales in Alto Boquete. They are now a tax-exempt foundation actively raising funds to buy their own land in Jaramillo.

Tuesday, October 24  -  Nutre Hogar Chiriqui– Judith Tovar, speaker for this charity that feeds and improves the lives of malnourished children in the Chiriqui province.  Nutre Hogar welcomes visitors to their location in David to play with the children.

Tuesday, November 19 – Nov. 19 – What the Heck is Boquete Health and Hospice and why must Ex-Pats know about BHH?  

A panel discusses and fields your questions about the BHH purpose that goes beyond hospice care. Topics addressed are the BHH free services from our procedures for respiratory services, equipment loan program including canes to hospital beds and how to access blood for surgeries and other BHH assistance.  The panel will preview our revised “Be Prepared” workshop on how to plan for a health issue here under the laws of Panama. 

If you have chosen to live here whether forever or as a snow-bird, you can’t afford to miss this presentation.
