Panama: $10 Million in Education Center Expected

The Ministry of Education plans to demolish and build the new facilities of an educational center that is in the village of Aligandi, Kuna Yala County.

The Environmental Impact Study (EIA) to develop the project called "Design, development of plans and construction of the new facilities of the Cacique Olodebiniginya Institute, community of Ustupu, corregimiento of Ailigandi comarca Kuna Yala", was presented by the Ministry of Education in the first quarter of the year.

The EIA explains that the work consists of the demolition of existing infrastructure and the construction of an educational center, which will have administrative areas, preschool level, school classrooms (pedestrian access, roofed court, dining kitchen, kiosk, auditorium, dormitories for teachers and perimeter fence).

Special infrastructure and systems (pump room and firefighting systems), water storage tank and installation of photovoltaic systems, room for electrical boards, special systems, telephone systems and wastewater treatment plant, among others, will also be built.

The estimated investment is $10.2 million.
