In the first nine months of 2018, Central American countries spent $135 million on tractor purchases, with Panama and Costa Rica representing 44% of total imports.

Imports by country
From January to September 2018, the main tractor buyer in Central America was Panama with $31 million, followed by Costa Rica with $30 million, Guatemala with $29 million, Honduras with $19 million, Nicaragua with $15 million and El Salvador with $12 million.

Origin of imports
From January to September of this year, 46% of the value imported from Central America was from the U.S., 21% from Mexico, 8% from Brazil and 5% from China.

Variation in regional imports
Between the first nine months of 2017 and the same period in 2018, the value imported into the region slightly increased from $134 million to $135 million.
