Moderators Moderator_02 Posted December 21, 2018 Author Moderators Posted December 21, 2018 Quote Rescued ocelot awaiting surgery Posted on December 20, 2018 in Panama Post Views: 151 A two-year-old female ocelot, run over by a vehicle on the road to Limones, in the Barú district, Chiriqui was rescued by personnel from the National Border Service (SENAFRONT) on Monday, December 17 and is being examined by staff of the BioDiversity Department. of the Ministry of the Environment (MiAMBIENTE). Veterinarian Ana Sofía Angulo said that it has been determined that the feline has a hip fracture and will be taken to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Panama to be treated, including surgery. She is the fourth ocelot rescued during 2018 that has received treatment from the technicians of MiAMBIENTE. This year the Ministry has rescued a total of 248 animals of different species that have been analyzed by the technical team.
