Over 500 Christmas turkeys, dressings, broths, and seasoned sauces were among 5,430  products with expired usage dates still on sale in Panama stores during a two-night blitz this week by the Consumer Protection Authority. (ACODECO)

The raids were carried out at night when  defaulting stores  thought they were safe from inspection and  7.218 anomalies  including no pricing and prices which differed at the cash register

Another of the exercises by the Acodeco is the cash registers with 127 showing surcharges   (one price on the shelves, but a higher price when the customer pays).

All the offenders will face financial sanctions Oscar García Cardoze, Acodeco’s administrator said that in the case of turkeys found in a Bugaba establishment, whose expiration date was last August, after having been produced in 2016, the fine could reach $50,000.because  of the attack on health. In the rest of the stores, the monetary sanctions will be evaluated.
