Several principal streets of the capital city were flooded during torrential downpours on Friday afternoon with National Police forced to divert traffic on several thoroughfares to avoid drivers getting trapped. Via Argentina, where rehabilitation works are well behind schedule and over 40 businesses have closed their doors was again hard hit. The rains came as thousands of vehicles streamed out of the city in anticipation of the long weekend.  Major parades celebrating independence from Colombia art set for the weekend.
