The Atlanta Braves faced and defeated the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday with a score of two runs to one, in a game in which Panamanian Johan Camargo was not put on the field as a precaution.

The Panamanian left the game last Tuesday in the third inning after suffering a pull in the groin, and the team doctors indicated that it would not be a serious injury, so they made the decision to take it day by day.

The exit of Camargo forced to move Ozzie Albies to second at bat, behind the Venezuelan Ronald Acuña Jr, who is the team’s first bat from the second half of the All-star Game.

Reports indicate that Camargo could return to action on Friday at the start of a series of three games against the Washington Nationals in the middle of the fight to clinch the East Division National League pennant, where they have a 7.5-game lead over the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Panamanian batted in the season at bat is .274 with 18 homers and 70 RBIs, but it has been his second wind in the second half of the season that has made him an important player for Atlanta.
