NewsLady
Buenos Vecinos de Boquete Newsletter September 2018. A Big Thank You to the Boquete Community! Our latest Buenos Vecinos Food Drive in front of Romero’s Food Market in Boquete August 18th was a great success, thanks to generous community and even tourists who stopped by to learn more about our food charity and to donate cash and selected non-perishable food items. By the end of the day, BVB had collected enough to support one of our needy families for more than a year. We appreciate your big hearts! We want to also thank those Coconut Foundation Members who recently renewed their annual pledges to support BVB for a minimum of $360 a year. And hats off to N & N Catering (Nairn Cutten and Nancy Halbert) who donate all of the profits from their catering jobs to Buenos Vecinos and two other deserving charities. Their substantial donation means that our clients like the Family of the Month featured below will continue to find BVB groceries at their door throughout the year. BVB could not exist without this kind of support. Thank you! There’s Still Time………. It’s not too late to buy your first raffle tickets, or even additional tickets, to win this beautiful 60” X 60” handmade Indonesian batik quilt or this decorator 21” X 25” brushed metal seashell mirror. Look for the Buenos Vecinos table at the Tuesday Morning Market. The winners will be announced on stage before the Tuesday Talk on September 25th and need not be present to win. Join Us at the Health Fair (and the BVB Bake Sale) Boquete Health and Hospice is sponsoring the Boquete Health Fair at the Feria across from the BCP on Sunday October 14th 1-4 pm. This important event will feature representatives from the health community, doctors, laboratories, pharmacies and other health supporters. Free blood pressure checks and glucose testing will also be available. Buenos Vecinos will be there selling delicious homemade baked goods. All proceeds from these sales support BVB’s monthly food distribution to some of the area’s neediest individuals and families
