Panamanian sprinter Alonso Edward won the silver medal in the 100 meters of the ISTAF in Berlin, a competition that has become a classic within the calendar of world athletics.

Edward, who reached the finish line in 10.08 seconds, was beaten by Jamaican Tyquendo Tracey, by 30 millisecondsAmerican Isiah Young ended up third in the competition in 10.15 seconds.

The Istaf (Internationales Stadionfest) is a track and field event that was held for the first time in 1921 and since 2010 is part of the Challenges Circuit of the International Athletics Federation, the second level of world events of a day.

The second place confirms the good moment of the 28-year-old sprinter, who comes from winning the gold medal in the South American Games of Cochabamba, Bolivia, and a bronze medal in the 54th edition of the Palio Citta della Quercia, in Italy.

#ISTAFBerlin Tyquendo Tracey of Jamaica takes the 100 m with 10.05 from Alonso Edward (Panama/10.08) and Isiah Young (USA/10.15). Kim Collins (SKN) took eighth in his farewell race with 10.45. "Yes, this was my last race," the former World Champion confirmed.
