  1. Yesterday's hike was fun as, we hiked in an area, I have not hiked on for a year or more. Palmira Abajo the area, we hiked, has many wonderful country lanes one of the reasons why, I enjoy hiking this highland area in the Boquete District as there are so many trails to choose, from easy to difficult. For the Boquete Nature Hike group on "Easy Wednesday", I choose trails easy to maneuver on for a 2-3 hour morning nature walk. Nevertheless, I do insist that you must be in good health to join this group. Hope you join us one morning! Here are a few of my photos from yesterday's hike. Explore Dream Discover

Nature hiking is not about rushing to the end, but more about looking at what surrounds you, relaxing and learning more about Boquete's natural beauty. We hike "Off the Beaten Path" it's the best way to hike and to take in nature. This Wednesday 11/29 is for the intermediate to advanced hiker. We’ll meet at the Boquete Library located in Bajo Boquete along the main road leading into town at 8:30 AM., carpooling from there to a side road off the Jaramillo loop (on the Hotel Oasis side). When we hike down this road and back, we’ll see Lucero and if we’re lucky may even see the Pacific. The road is called the La Estrella/ El Valle. It’s not too bad of a gravel road with lots of up and down but no extended periods of either. Lots of fun sites and good company. This is a gravel road so wearing shorts are fine, if you prefer. Bring water, raingear, bug spray, wear sunblock and a snack. Do what you feel comfortable with and come join the fun. See you on the trail. We meet at different locations twice a week. 16. In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect. Trees can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and they're still beautiful - Alice Walker Friday, meeting at 8:30 A.M. in the Plaza San Francisco parking lot located in Alto Boquete. Remember to park your car along the side road. leaving at 8:35. Just a reminder about EZ Friday it's about nature, we take our time finding the unusual. This is a great walk for birders, nature buffs, we try to identify plant life, birds and insects. It may not be for those wanting to walk the fast lane, as, we walk as a group. Our walk will be in Alto Boquete in the community of Saboney. We will carpool a short distance from PSF. The last time was walked this area was during the dry season back in March. Now, I am curious to see how it looks with all the rain that has fallen. A brief description about the trail, it's off the beaten path tucked away from all traffic and cars, it has the Rio Caldera flowing in the not so deep canyon below the path, we may see ducks swimming in a small creek alongside the path and more. This is a short walk lasting 2 plus hours and am sure you will enjoy the nature that surrounds this trail. Pack rain gear, water, camera, binocs, cap/hat, wear bug spray and sunblock as well hiking shoes or shoes with good outer sole treads. Enjoy the photos from Saboney. Join us each Wednesday morning for a three-hour plus walk or the popular EZ Friday Nature Walk for 2 plus hours, meeting time always at 8:30 A.M. Wednesday July 12, 2017 meeting at 8:30 A.M., Alto Boquete in the Plaza San Francisco parking lot. When driving park on the side road. We leave at 8:35 carpooling to Caldera. Caldera is another one of Boquete's wonderful and interesting places to walk. Wednesday we will be on a lonely country lane with the town people who live in this quiet area of Caldera riding on horseback to to town. Caldera is a sleepy no frills town. I hope you join us for this 3 hour walk as, we take in natural beauty, the cattle and/or horses roaming on this road or listen to the Rio Chiriqui Grande flowing alongside this lane and the huge boulders that have been nestled in this river, for centuries or the Crimson Red Jobo fruit (Jamaican Plum) and mangos are in season. Caldera is warmer than Boquete so dress lightly. Remember to pack: Rain gear, this time take along a snack, plenty of water, hat/cap, sun block definitely, bug spray, binocs and a camera.
