Just in, Stone Cabins will be wrapping up a function at 6 pm this Sunday and has asked if we could start our drum circle 1/2 hour later. Hello Drummers, We've had an excellent month of drumming with guests artists adding to our fun. The April Full Moon Drum and Jam was well attended even though we had to drum on Wednesday instead of our usual Sunday. The appetizers provided by Stone Cabins were well received. Stone Cabins will provide $2.00 mini pizzas, sausage sticks and cookies for our May Full Flower Moon Drum and Jam on Sunday the 19th. Their bar will open at 6:30 pm with $2.50 mixed drinks, ice cold beer and wine. Plus they can make anything from their restaurant bar and bring it too you. We have a limited number of loaner drums available so come early if you want to use a drum, free of charge of course, like in our drum circles. If you have guests coming in, let us know on our face book page (see link above), and someone could possibly bring an extra drum for your guests.
  4. View this email in your browser Join our Facebook group and keep up with Boquete Drummer news. Hello Drummers, A Pink Full Moon Drum and Jam is upon us this coming Wednesday, the 17th, at 6 pm. Stone Cabins once again hosts Boquete Drummers for an evening of high energy drumming, socializing and friendships. Casa Viejo Restaurant will be serving chicken, veggie and cheese Quesadillas for $2, sausage spirals on a stick for $1 (I sampled these and they get a thumbs up) and Oatmeal and Raisin cookies for fifty cents! Stop by and feed the flames of your drumming passion! You can also order from their menu. All Boquete Drummers drum circles are free and fun for everyone. Loaner drums are available. Here's a little video of Christine Stevens performing drum circle facilitating. We could incorporate some of these moves in our activities. I vote for Geovana to lead our group :o)) https://youtu.be/0bsBiRjgd2M Watch "Art & Heart of Drum Circles - Christine Stevens" on YouTube A djembe or jembe is a rope-tuned skin-covered goblet drum played with bare hands, originally from West Africa. According to the Bambara people in Mali, the name of the djembe comes from the saying "Anke djé, anke bé" which translates to "everyone gathers together in peace" and defines the drum's purpose. Wikipedia Until then, drum on, Al.
