Hiking: Off The Beaten Path
JM posted a calendar event in Repeating Events (Health, Exercise, Sports, Entertainment, Hobby, Dining, etc.)
untilWednesday 8:30 A.M. meeting at Plaza San Francisco in front of Mort's Bakery. At 8:35, we carpool to the Lucero area to begin our hike on a dirt path along a water channel, passing the La Estrella Represa (La Estrella Water Reservoir) on a road leading to Caldera. We will NOT be hiking to Caldera this time. We hike until, we reach the area that overlooks the Talamanca mountain range a beautiful sight to see - on a clear day. The total time for this hike out and back will be 3 + hours. The trail: A delightful flat for the most part, terrain is dirt (no slippery clay mud), we walk on asphalt for a short distance then back on dirt. Remember to pack rain gear. Pack water, a snack, sun block, bug spray and bring binocs to see birds and camera to capture them in your lens.
