Boquete Knitters and Quilters create knitted, crocheted, and quilted baby items: blankets, caps, sweaters, booties, and quilts for our tiniest and most vulnerable neighbors.
  4. As I watched the video, it appeared to me to be only an advertisement urging people to subscribe to their Patreon channel for $15 a month (for residents of Panama) in order to actually receive any pertinent information. Please correct me should I be mistaken.
  5. I can't address the renewal (or lack thereof) at 89, but when I was 69 I was issued a 4-year license. So maybe renewal at 89 is possible!
  6. With all due respect (and compassion), Christmas itself is not cancelled. Our plans and activities likely have been, unless our plans were to essentially ignore the day. But Christmas will come. And those of us who celebrate the so-great gift given to us will rejoice in that, despite everything.
  7. I need a gardener one day a week (preferably Monday). MUST be reliable and knowledgeable about plants. English a definite plus, but not absolutely necessary. Please contact me at tnrnmsg@yahoo.com. Thank you!

It's our BIRTHDAY!!! (On January 24) and WE'RE INVITING YOU To our party!! The Boquete Knitters and Quilters are turning 11 years old and we want to celebrate with our friends and neighbors. Friday, January 24, 1-3PM, at the Handicap Foundation in Alto Boquete we will have birthday cake and punch. Please come join us -- celebrations are meant to be shared.
  9. Still "wishin' and hopin' and thinkin' and prayin' " for a Riba Smith!
  10. This was a delightful little play, obviously geared toward children. (I think I was the only -- and oldest -- gringa who attended!) Presented, of course, in Spanish, with wonderfully exaggerated acting and sight gags, it seemed to captivate the "littles" in the audience. Despite my own lack of fluency in Spanish, my familiarity with the classic story of Goldilocks enabled me to follow along and enjoy. Our biblioteca is a treasure for "children of all ages". I urge us all to take advantage of it!
  11. We have about 20 soups promised! Come sample and savor!

Save the Date! The Boquete Knitters and Quilters are hosting their annual Great Boquete Soup Fest on Friday, 6 September, from 11AM to 1:30PM! Venue to be announced.
  13. Your generosity is epic! And the Boquete Knitters and Quilters are so grateful to you for your support!
  14. A number of you, my friends and neighbors, have noticed something "different" about me. There is sort of "less" of me than there used to be. This is why -- I'm #14 on the list. https://www.precisionnutrition.com/finalists-women-january-2019 I would greatly appreciate it if you'd vote for me (on ALL your electronic devices!) and also share with your own circle of friends, asking for their vote as well (#14).
  15. Do you mean the Oasis type that will hold water? Possibly at Textiles Chiriqui, but I can't be sure. Or maybe Marie in the little flower shop close to the Fundadores might have some. How much do you need? I can check my "flower fixing" stash to see if I have some to spare, if you'd like.
  16. Textiles Chiriqui on the main road close to Mailboxes, Etc, sells tissue paper. By the sheet. From a display rack close to the front door. I've not seen the big packages of tissue paper even in David.
  17. "Cloth is just as easy to use and is environment friendly." On the other hand, washing diapers by beating them on the rocks in the rivers means that both urine and feces (and soap and perhaps bleach) are released into the rivers. And that is what happens when the indigenous mothers would be forced to do so because of their circumstances.

Thank you, Bud and Marcelyn, so much for coming! I'm delighted that you had a good time and enjoyed all the soups -- I'm generally too busy to even stop to taste any!
  19. Just two more "sleeps"! And you can indulge in some delicious soups!!!

  21. And, in radio trivia, radio stations located east of the Mississippi River started their call letters with "W", and those west of the Mississippi started theirs with "K". For example, WSM is located in Nashville, TN, while KEZK is located in St. Louis, MO.
  22. Oh, how sad! Hershel and Mikey were a lovely couple and such an asset to the community.
