  1. Yes, the Municipality of Dolega is open, but is only serving one person at a time. The lineup when I passed there yesterday was over 30 people. Take your Pensionado card. I believe there is a separate lineup.
  2. Municipal Offices and Departments are closed today to celebrate the Dia de San Juan, Patron Saint of Boquete

Folks who are organizing package dinners should note that they're losing a sector of their possible market by including alcoholic beverages.

  5. The name of the facility is El Cacho, short for Cachorro de Leones or Lion's Cub.
  6. She's always been the only one to make any money.
  7. Developers had to have seen this coming but they are still building large malls which will only get emptier over time.
  8. About 6 months ago I purchased a vehicle for someone in this relatively new but crappy building. The poor quality of construction was evident in the lobby, hallways, and parking garage. I do not see any evidence in the photos that there was a reinforced bond beam on top of the parapet wall that the car crashed through. The bond beam would normally be tied into principal vertical columns. The span of the parapet walls between columns is far too long, imo.
  9. Bit of a trip for nothing if that's the only motive The information is all over the internet. Sales of alcoholic beverages will continue to be prohibited in the District of David. The Municipality of Panama will re-initiate sales this morning.
  10. I suspect the Boquete branch will re-open. If not, I will miss the excellent service provided by their wonderful personnel.
  11. The editorial is criticizing members of the National Assembly, not the President.
  12. Terms used in Panama Pandilla - Gang Pandillerismo - Gang Activities (a crime) Maleante - Bad guy, often a gang member
  13. It's not up to the RCMP to determine merit when there is a code Red Interpol warrant., only whether it's valid to be executed. * Red: To seek arrest of a wanted person for whom an arrest warrant has been issued and where extradition will likely be requested. (Note: An arrest warrant from another country has no legal status in Canada.) The woman in question, Meng Wanzhou, is fighting extradition, in part because her alleged conduct was not illegal in Canada, an argument known legally as "double criminality". In any case, if you're anti-Hauwei, the C and W system won't be for you.
  14. Ban? Never mentioned one. Policies of the U.S. government concerning Hauwei, the likes of which forced the arrest of a Canadian resident in Canada, are definitely a concern to other nations.
  15. Cable and Wireless installed Fibre Optic cable into my home about 2 weeks ago. So far, so good. Higher speeds, no interruptions. Reduced my monthly internet costs slightly and added a few features. * Heads up. This may not be the service for U.S. citizens who are aligned and in agreement with the anti-HUAWEI policies of the U.S. governmen. The hardware is all HAUWEI.
  16. The import ban on Firearms has been lifted. I was speaking with two US expats yesterday who are excited about finally being able to carry their sidearms around town. Ufff
