  1. 😄..apparently some people don't like to taste their own medicine.

If the member wanted to complain about customer service in Panama he could have written his own post about it instead of throwing shade on a good story, imo.

Extranjeros relating positive experiences with Panamanians on this site are not nearly as common as criticisms.

  2. There is an article in LaPrensa today June 29th stating that the Panamanian Border Police SENAFRONT and the SNM Immigration Service are backed up down at the last outpost in the Darien Gap. There are 70 Cubans there at the moment and about 130 people of East Indian origin just arrived. There are only 120 beds.

I thought "reuse" was one of the 3 tenants of recycling --reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Then maybe the car should go to a "reuse" centre for vehicles instead of being another roadside blemish, of which there are plenty already.

So, the question is, what do we do about this problem?

In my opinion, there should be NO disposable cans or bottles. We buy sodas and beer by the case in returnable bottles.

It’s less expensive and helps the cause.

Why would I want to pay extra for something only to throw it away?

This is the biggest and most well organized Independence Day(s) celebration I can remember.

Possibly due to more support from the ATP Tourism Authority than in previous years.

President Juan Carlos Varela received the former Uruguayan President José "Pepe" Mujica, at the Palacio de las Garzas, with whom he talked about topics of interest in the region.

Mujica was previously decorated with the Order Amador Guerrero Manual in Grade of Grand Cross by the vice president and chancellor Isabel de Saint Malo de Alvarado, as an exaltation to his achievements as a political and social figure in Latin America.

"It is an honor to receive the visit of the former president of Uruguay, José Pepe Mujica, a simple man with a great vocation of service to his country and our region”, said Varela.

The former Uruguayan president during his visit to Panama received the Doctorate Honoris Causa from the University of Panama, where he also was the speaker at a conference "Perspectives on democratic development and social equity in Latin America and the Caribbean”.

My Panamanian Son-In-Law spent 20 days in China last year promoting tourism for Boquete/Panama. This year he spent 20 days in Japan doing the same thing. He and another person were sent there by the Government Of Panama.

    A different program, perhaps.

The folks I'm referring to were invited to visit China by the Peoples Republic through Dr. Alfonso Mou.

It seems like it's been a long time since we've seen any public updates from either of the entities handling emergency incident reports, specifically Alto Al Crimen and Rodny Direct.

Any statistics on the number and nature of calls received and the type of response that was required?

Is the incidence of local criminal activity up or down, etc.?

Looks like the neither of the emergency service outfits are going to supply the community with any criminalistic data.

Is it because there's been no activity, they're not coordinating with Police for information, or just don't want to share?
