Everybody had a a blast at the BJBF fundraiser at Chiriqui Farms on Friday, Dec. 4! A full house, yummy food, and great music by Gary Whiting's band, supported by our beloved Yella, to rock the extra pounds off! There was hardly ever free space on the dance floor. If you thought it couldn't get any better you were wrong! A huge surprise came when 13 year old Ana Gabriela of Alto Boquete took the mic and displayed an amazing bluesy voice by belting out Bonnie Raitt's "You got to love me like a man" followed by 'You ain't nothing but a hound dog'. Certainly a huge talent to watch out for! If you thought it couldn't get any better after this you were wrong again! The absolute highlight came when our local amazing guitar wizard Edgar took the stage to put the audience in a trance by playing his versions of "Hotel California" followed by the all-time favorite of "Butterfly", with Yella doing the vocals on both songs.... If there was ever an anticipation of what the Boquete Jazz&Blues Festival 2016 will be about...this was it! You got to be sorry if you missed this wonderful event! Make sure not to miss out on the future BJBF fundraisers: January 8, 2016: Pollera dance show at the OASIS, followed by YELLA FEVER to rock the night away! January 22, 2016: Black&White party at the Sabor restaurant in Valle Escondido. Watch out for further announcements of these events!
