  1. Because of the sarcastic way it says "sounds like a toothpaste". It is at ethnic name. Not nice to mock ethnicity traits such as names would you not agree. I have never met Ambreen or Bob Hunter. I know I looked up Ambreen in Linked-in and Facebook and she is there. Why wouldn't people do a little research before judging.
  2. Quite racist remark. Ambreen is a Pakistani name. Very real. Look her up
  3. No I do not share a close familiar relationship with a moderator, I am friends with Olga, not related and she is not a moderator of Ning but a contributor.
  4. Funny Roger because you were once a member of Ning as many of you still are, and those who are banned also check the site. It is funny you can be respectful here but disrespectful there. Funny as well because Roger you may have expat friends all you want, but you are NOT an expat nor live in Boquete, so advocating to be a member of the community is kind of untrue. We, the ones who DO live in Boquete deal with this unwarranted behavior and criticism and hatred all day long. It affects me? yes, it shows hypocrisy and double standards by members of the community I live in and unfortunately it is very sad the newcomers see this kind of behavior in both sites. I deal a lot with younger expats and they for the most part are not a fan of either site because of these kinds of attitudes. Maturity in your eyes is site selective.
  5. Since this page is so concerned over what happens at Ning, please look at the post by Bob Hunter where he declares himself Jewish. The posts are certainly responsibility of the person posting, as is in this site and not of the site or its owners. I have never seen on Ning anything pertaining to discussions on this page, yet, there are several instances where members here start posts about what goes on there, can anyone explain why? and why do the owners of this page allow this?
  6. why do you even care about what's posted on Ning. Focus on Volcancito not having water and issues that matter, who cares what they do on other sites
  7. PriceSmart used to be the same as Costco. It was Price Costco before so they have the same marketing techniques, which includes moving merchandise frequently In order to force shoppers to go through all isles
  8. I can say first hand that Nancy is always willing and eager to lend a hand and help out, charity organizations or personal donations. I remember a few years back Nancy helped out Olga feed indigenous families in Boquete. She cooked a deliciously fresh full Holiday meal and delivered it hot personally with toys. This was not a charity organization, but a charity nonetheless. She helped with cash several times when money was being collected at Tuesday Market for children's uniforms for the Los Naranjos Elementary school and so many other times money was being collected to help out families in need, collect toys, help out police, etc. These are NOT organizations but still credit should be given to Nancy because this is beautiful charity work, always there, always with a smile and a kind heart
  9. when there is no topic of conversation........... criticize others
  10. Proximity? Are you kidding? Boquete is probably one of the expat retirement cities that are farthest from Panama City.
  11. Law 45 from 2007 says if you change your mind, the store is not obligated to refund the money.
  12. Actually most of the places in Panama do not give refunds. One can always go the ACODECO route, but I have seen many stores with the little disclaimers, if it is not damaged, nor defective, but just a change of mind, I always understood it's yours to keep.
  13. She has always said she is in an expat and that is why she writes info to help out expats adjust to Panama living. Being raised in Panama and having been married to a Panamanian and having a Panamanian family gives her inside info. I am her personal friend and I know her step mom's family for many years. Her daughter is also Panamanian by citizenship and worked at AIB
  14. Most of the Panamanian homeowners in Mystic Gardens have them as second or third homes, only come on weekends or use them for seasonal rental property. Ask Maylin at the office. Even their sales center is located in Panama City at the The Group offices, although since the project was recently sold that could have changed.
  15. Yes, Cuban born and US Citizen she has said so many times on Ning and everywhere. She was raised between Panama and the US, I believe from the 70's. This is common knowledge.
  16. You must have a conviction. Anyone can be charged but the end result is what matters. Go on Ning the case is posted
  17. Marcela you are not well. This woman has done nothing to you but to stop you from spamming Ning with your flea market ads. She just posted a link to all the cases she has in Civil court with her ex husband and the criminal case which ended in no convictions, to say what you are saying can be used against you in a slander lawsuit, If I were you, I will be careful as to what I write. For all, Olga just posted a forum with all the links, no convictions, the felony charge says No Action this woman Marcela is clearly unwell and I do not know why people on this site constantly obsess about Ning. Let them be, they do not mess with you or post about you. I am a member on both sites and get local info from both, users here may want to post informative forums rather than trash other people and allow crazy members to trash people without basis. I have Olga on Facebook, I know where she works and I can guarantee you Marcela will never be allowed at such a place.... wow
  18. Mystic Gardens sold most of their homes. They are second and third homes for Panamanians. These homes are designed not for the expat but for the middle class Panamanian professionals from the City or from David who enjoy Boquete as a weekend/Holiday getaway. Most the Mystic homes sold for under $100K and even now they are priced right around the $100-$120K range. The project was also sold to new developers. So these developments are not the super mansions aimed at expats with expat sought after features, but more so for the upper middle class Panamanians who benefit from great programs offered by banks
  19. This was reported a few weeks ago in the other site. Ricardo Perez is involved.
  20. He was showing in Dolega, his truck was found in Cerro Punta. This is why things get out of hand, because people write misinformed things. Instead of going to the "other site" for info, people should focus on the facts. El Caño in Dolega has a back part that is really rugged terrain, this is where his lot was. He is not a Realtor, but rather someone selling his own property. His truck was found in Cerro Punta days later with 4 flat tires. Could have been found on the side of the road abandoned and easily stolen for a joy ride. Most likely, this poor man had an accident on the hills or was bit by a snake. It is not likely he was kidnapped but again, not ruled out, however, when showing property people typically do not go with lots of cash or jewelry or anything of value. He was on dating sites, he was dating a Panamanian girl, this could have been something personal too. There are more questions than answers but the family needs to be more proactive in reaching out Interpol and making lots of noise with international press. His friends in David and Dolega can perhaps organize a search. Everyone talks, everyone assumes, but I do not see people out searching for him either.
