GEOLOGY FIELD TRIP:
Jaramillo Ridge, which runs along the Caldera River, is part of the Isthmus that closed about 10 million years ago. Volcan Baru was built on top of it and this field trip studies the results of this process. This trip will last approximately five hours and will assemble for departure at 8 am. The field trip will be led by Dr. Paul Myers, emeritus faculty at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire assisted by geologist Martita Stearns.
