The Aeropress is a convenient way to prepare delicious coffee quickly and easily.
We want to give everyone a chance to get to know this unique brewing method, the Aeropress Coffee Maker. During this workshop, we will prepare Specialty Coffee where we will pay attention to grind size, water temperature, type of water, extraction time, etc. If you own an Aeropress, bring it along! If you don't have one (yet), don't worry, we have some available for participants to use and for sale.
The 3 different techniques of Aeropress brewing will be taught: the regular-, inverted- and bypass method.
This is the favourite brewing method for travelling baristas because the Aeropress is compact, made of plastic (not breakable) and durable.
In 2005, the Aeropress was invented by American Alan Adler as a reaction to the French Press where the filter (a metal mesh) still allows some coffee grounds to pass through. This is not the case with the Aeropress, as the water is forced through the coffee grounds using a tube and then through a paper filter.
